  1. Hello New and Old friends,
I am Martha Jean. I'm in the middle of big transitions. I'm moving from my home of almost 40 years. I'm holding the reality of Joy Unity in Haverhill. This is the perfect time to breathe/meditate.. you know...to not be breathless.
    Peace and Joy

  2. Namaste ~
This challeng could not have come at a better time. I too am in a time of transition...I steped out of my role as co owner of a studio that I loved at the end of last year to focus on the needs of my family. My youngest son was diagnosid with bipolar disorder when he was only 8 1/2...he is now 11 and the challenges we face are getting bigger. To best meet his needs and the needs of my other son and my husband I know that I need to focus on my breath, to center and tap into the amazing strength that resides within. A daunting task for sure, but done in the name of love and healing and within a community of support and encouragement I know it will happen.
I am excited to take this journey ~

  3. Greeting! My name is Kristin and I am a friend, neighbor and co-worker of Avantika's. I am also a mother of a 2-year old, a wife, a birth doula, herbalist and yoga teacher. Over the past 10 years I have included meditation as part of my yoga practice. At times I consider it to be "strong" and at other times "week." When I practice meditation on a daily basis I find that I am a happier, healthier person over-all. It is one of the things that I know is so good for me, yet is so difficult for me to incorporate into my daily routine. When this "challenge" came to me, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to just do it! So with that said, finding the time and space to meditate as well as allowing my mind to be still is what I foresee to be the most difficult part to all of this.

  4. Hiya! I am Amy and a yoga instructor and still point healer as well as reiki practitioner, teacher, and doula in training (phew!). I am aware that when I meditate I function much better in my life and that I am more able to give from my extra not of my essence in all the ways I work with people. I think this is a great virtual way to support each other. It is great to be in community to practice meditation, something that challenges us but when we face the challenge were are all the better for it and the outcome is wonderful.

    Let's do it!

  5. My name is Karina and I know Avantika from the yoga studio which I am no longer a member of. I've done some meditation in the past and know it is something very good and positive for me. I struggle to incorporate it every day as others have mentioned. However, I've started this new year 2011 as the year that I finally change and work on a few areas where I have been stuck. One of those is stress management and related insomnia. Daily meditation is something I want to do to keep me more centered, calm, focused. I'm ready for this challenge. Thank you.

  8. Hi, my name is Carmen and I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years. I have recently started to take my meditation more seriously and am very excited to take this challenge. I do try to meditate after practcing yoga but with my cooky schedule sometimes that is not possible. I recently created a little altar in my spare bedroom specifically for this. I look forward to hearing from everyone and sharing our experiences. Namaste.

  9. Hi, name is Bo from Portland, OR. I'm a recent college grad who's steadily transitioning into the real world. I'm moving to SF for a new job, new city, new friends. I am searching for solace and strength in clearing my mind. I think it's so important to just disconnect from Web 2.0, technology, and to just clear our minds even if it is for just 20 mins a day (no excuses!).
    Namaste.

  10. Hello all...I found this event through a friend on facebook. My name is Yasmina, but you can call me Mina. (for some reason, its not letting me use my wordpress login info here)
I've taken yoga on and off for a while, and love it. I've made one of my goals for the new year to meditate, working my way up to daily meditation, but I have yet to start. I don't know much about meditation, but know that the few times I've tried, I've felt amazing. This couldn't come at a better time, as I'm preparing myself for surgery on February 7. Hopefully the meditation will help speed my recovery along. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

  16. I'm Dia:) Very grateful to have come across this challenge, just what I need at this point in my journey..to place a bit more focused attention to my inner world. Life gets hectic sometimes, and although I've been able to keep my yoga and journaling routine, I sometimes don't set the discipline to keep a meditation practice...so I am EXCITED we will all be doing this together!!!

  22. Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, I met Avantika this summer at a friends' wedding. I feel some new energies are stirring within the community and I am pleased to be part of it! As with many of you, I am in deep transition in my life. I am soon going to be managing the yoga studio my partner is opening. He and I are becoming a team on more levels than just our relationship. It's both exhilerating and challenging. I am also finishing up school and on Friday will embrace turning 36! My yoga practice is my anchor right now and this meditation challenge is just what I need to further support me on the path. I am pleased to see so many people a part of this, I am inspired and ready to be the change that I want to see in the world! Sending you all love and light. Namaste.
